Clouds from Vintage and Main

This is how my cow pasture looks on a crisp November morn. I love clouds: white, fluffy clouds and vintage. Vintage and Main is not a treasury team. Their goal is to market each of the shops on the team and to support each other. Active and frequent participation is required. Search Teamvam on Etsy for the finest vintage on the Etsy marketplace. Rocky Springs Vintage is proud to be a part of the vintage movement. Kick start the old and discover what's new.

Washington Parish Free Fair

Since its humble beginning in 1911 in a local livery stable, this county/parish fair has steadily grown bigger and better each successive year. Today, based upon attendance records, it is believed to be the largest county/parish free fair in the USA. It is the second oldest Parish Fair in Louisiana.
It is a family fair. They come from all over the country to enjoy the wholesome virtues characterized by Wiley Wit and imagination cemented with a strong enthusiasm, cooperation and genuine concern for the cultural, educational and economic advancement of the parish.
We enjoyed it once again this year.

Slow Quiet Morning

Oat's and prayers
all morning long,

Like Adam in the garden
I busy myself naming
the animals

I might just call him
the Abbot I think,

Looking down into the
sink full of dirty dishes

They can wait, for later

Sarah of Sweden, Thank you!

It seemed like a normal day and then all of a sudden, the emails started coming with a congratulations on the front page of Etsy. My items are popular but when they end up on the front page, all is right with the world.

Saying Hello to the Morning

As the weary morning lifts her head
her sleepy bosom wakes;
and dreamy eyes will wonder on,
apart from memories she's made.
engulfed by newly realized dreams,
her mind will not capitulate.
in something now she hides her key,
no lock could ever make her stay

The Beautiful View

Mount Hermon is an unincorporated community in northwestern Washington Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is the home of the Yellow Jackets of Mount Hermon High School. The Mile Branch Settlement at the Washington Parish Free Fair is the current home of the old one room school house that was originally built by the pioneers of Mount Hermon, Louisiana. What People Love. What People Buy.

The man who purchased this typewriter bought it for an anniversary present. His wife had seen the same typewriter on their honeymoon and had really wanted one like it. So happy to see this sweet piece found a good home.

It brings 500 views to my shop on any given day. If my views are up, it's because one of my items has been highlighted on the front page of Etsy. This is where people come to shop, the first place they land.

She's One Happy Customer

Just letting you know the wicker basket arrived safe and sound and sits on our deacon's bench on the front porch (protected) with oodles of yellow chrysanthemums going in all directions. It's just about perfect I would say! I am so pleased with the appearance of the weaving patterns. Hope to seek-n-find more treasures from you and Etsy!

Back Deck Lush

It's a beautiful time of year in the South. The garden's planted and trees are dropping these little green things that make people sneeze. The hummingbirds have found their way from South America to our little front porch. Everything is lush green.

Easter in the 80's

It was a wonderful time to be alive. My boys were little enough to hunt for Easter eggs and a dear friend made this wooden basket for me. I filled it with real eggs and Dollar Store nesting material. The church service was over and it was time for an Easter egg hunt. Those precious little boys were dressed in shorts and Easter shoes. How adorable they were! The year was 1988.

Low Tech Man

"I'm a low tech man in a high tech world." Phil Robertson with Duck Dynasty says. The highlight of my day is watching my old friends from West Monroe, the Robertson clan. Duck Dynasty is a reality television series on A&E. It shows the lives of the Robertson family, who became wealthy from their family-operated business, Duck Commander, which makes products for duck hunters, primarily the duck call named Duck Commander. The Robertson men, brothers Phil and Si, and Phil's sons Jase, Willie, and Jep, are known for their long, flowing beards. The business began in a dilapidated family shed, where Phil Robertson spent 25 years making duck calls from Louisiana cedar trees. His son Willie is now the CEO of the company.

Things Made of Wood

You can't find a bench like this in a home decorating store but it's so nice when you put collectibles on top and on its bottom shelf. The charm. The grace of its lines. Check out this site for more wood.

Vintage Gold Watch Doubles As Brooch

" So I sit listening to the thunder outside, roaring ever so gently. You know the big storm's heading this way but not quite yet. We have a few minutes of quiet time. Time to think about who might have worn this pendant. Oh, I am sure it was my mother or my aunt. Of course, it looked great with a turtleneck sweater or white pantsuit of the 70's. The clock hung upside down so that the lady could glance down and see when the day would come to an end. When would it be time for her medication? When would she do the dishes or write a diary entry? It was a gentler time with no Facebook, internet, cell phones or text messages. Twitter was something she did when she was nervous and had to walk home in the dark. Oh, the stories the watch pendant could tell.

Fresh New Shops

Collin's new shop on Etsy was the motivation behind this treasury.

Hello Maggie. Welcome.

The rain falls delicately on the green pasture outside. A new little kitty named Maggie licks the glass door. She thinks she can taste the rain. Perhaps she can taste the rain or the condensation from the cool glass. Wait, she runs across the floor as fast as her little legs will carry her. I hear the sound of soft kitty feet across the floor. Maggie is a rescued kitty from the Pet Store and all of her life (Six Months) she's lived in a cage. Now she's really finding her legs. Hold up, Maggie, you're moving too fast.
Come see Maggie's favorite website.
